Year 9 EDC STEMM Insight Day

What a day for some of our Year 9 pupils at East Durham College! 

Thanks to FutureMe, students recently took part in a full STEMM experience packed with hands‑on learning and real employer insight. 

- People Bingo kicked things off with fun networking and confidence‑building. 

- Hart Biologicals delivered an interactive blood‑science workshop exploring lab and healthcare careers. 

- NHS Mental Health helped students recognise key signs and understand real‑life scenarios. 

- Let’s Talk STEMM boosted communication skills and opened conversations about future pathways. 

- Patient Assessment Centre let pupils follow an injury case from diagnosis to treatment. 

- Campus Tour showcased immersive classrooms and specialist mock‑ward facilities 

The day wrapped up with a brilliant Q&A Panel featuring employers, HE staff, and current students. Our pupils showed curiosity, confidence, and teamwork throughout — a fantastic step toward their future STEMM journeys.
