OPAL Play

OPAL is a nationally recognised initiative that aims to improve the quality of play by making it more inclusive, creative and purposeful. Through better use of outdoor space and a wide variety of natural and man-made resources, the programme encourages children to explore, collaborate and express themselves freely during playtime.

The introduction of OPAL is part of our wider commitment to developing our pupils. It supports well-being, builds resilience, improves physical activity levels and helps children learn how to self-regulate and problem-solve in real time. With a focus on fun, freedom and friendship, OPAL is already helping to transform play at Academy 360 into a meaningful and enriching part of the school day. We are proud to have achieved Gold Status in 2024 and remain committed to continually improving our provision so that every child experiences the very best opportunities for play.
