How We Support Disadvantaged Pupils
Academy 360 serves a community with significant socio-economic challenges. Sunderland is among the most deprived local authority areas in England, with 22.6% of children living in low-income families. In addition, 4.8% of 16-17-year-olds in Sunderland are not in education, employment or training (NEET).
These figures highlight the importance of our work to ensure every student leaves Year 11 equipped for the next stage of life.
We are fully committed to raising attainment for all learners and closing gaps caused by disadvantage. Our goal is clear: every student should have equitable access to high-quality education the the best possible start in adult life.

Preparing for Life Beyond School
Our approach extends beyond academic achievement. We prioritise careers education and guidance in line with the Gatsby Benchmarks, ensuring students understand pathways into further education, training and employment. Educational visits to employers and colleges, alongside enrichment opportunities such as the Duke of Ednburgh Award, help students develop confidence, resilience and ambition.
By addressing barriers early and providing targeted support, we aim to reduce the risk of students becoming NEET and ensure they leave Academy 360 ready for success.
