Voice 21
The Voice 21 initiative supports our pupils to find their voices by placing speaking and listening at the centre of learning, helping children share ideas with confidence and respect.
Through s
tructured opportunities to talk, discuss and present across the curriculum, pupils are explicitly taught how to use language effectively, think critically and collaborate with their peers. This is promoted through providing high quality opportunities for children, in and outside of school and across the Laidlaw Schools Trust. Teachers model the use of sentence stemming and structures, in all subject and in enrichment activities to enhance the oracy development of the children and are supported by the Voice 21 initiative and resources.
This approach supports inclusion, strengthens understanding in all subjects and builds self-esteem, ensuring eveery child has a voice and is prepared for success both in school and beyond.
