Consolidating Learning at Home
As part of our curriculum offer and to support retention and the securing of learning, weekly home learning tasks are set using online platforms. These can be accessed via a mobile phone, iPad, computer or laptop, ensuring all children are able to take part. The platforms used are familiar to pupils, as they are regularly used in school.
The purpose of home learning is to provide opportunities to embed learning from lessons or to practise key foundational knowledge. It also offers parents and carers the chance to engage with their child’s learning. Where family commitments, work schedules or extracurricular activities make this challenging, children are supported to complete their tasks during lunchtime or playtime. This is not used as a sanction, but as a supportive measure to ensure no child falls behind.
