Year 9 Pupils Explore Future Digital Careers at Beacon of Light Event

A group of our Year 9 pupils enjoyed an inspiring visit to the Beacon of Light to take part in the RANK Foundation Digital Careers Event, designed to give young people a closer insight into the exciting digital career opportunities available across Sunderland and the North East.

Throughout the day, pupils participated in a series of engaging hands-on workshops, including:

• Sport in the Digital World with Foundation of Light
• Esports and Its Growing Influence with British Esports
• Podcasting and Content Creation with BIC and Howell Media

The sessions gave pupils the opportunity to develop their understanding of the digital sector, meet regional employers and explore the skills and qualities needed for future careers in the industry.

Their enthusiasm, curiosity and excellent engagement made the day a great success, and the experience provided valuable insight into the wide range of opportunities available within the growing digital sector.
