Year 9 Success at Pathways to Employment Event
Back
A group of Year 9 students recently attended the North East Pathways to Employment Day at Newcastle University last week.
The visit provided pupils with the opportunity to explore future career pathways, engage with STEM professionals and take part in activities designed to broaden their understanding of employment routes across the region. Students also joined a Q&A session with STEM experts before taking part in a competition challenge focused on designing a new digital game themed around space. Teams were required to develop a concept, outline how the game would function and explain what made their idea stand out before pitching to a panel of employers.
The students were invited to attend the event following their success as winning teams in the EDT Challenger Day delivered at Academy 360 last November.
We are incredibly proud to share that one of our teams, Isla, Eva, Madeline, Lilie, Laila and Emma, were named among the four overall winners on the day. Their creativity and teamwork were clear throughout and their success has earned them a place at the Celebration Day on 3rd June at Digital Catapult’s Immersive Studio in Gateshead.
A huge well done to all students involved for their achievement and for representing the school so positively.
