Year 8 Pupils Visit the University of Sunderland
Back
Our Year 8 pupils had the exciting opportunity to visit the University of Sunderland and gain a first-hand insight into what life is like as a university student.
The day featured two engaging workshops, one focused on journalism and the other on rocket cars, giving pupils the chance to explore both creative and STEM-based learning in a hands-on, practical way. These sessions not only introduced them to new subject areas but also helped them begin thinking about the wide range of pathways higher education can offer.
As part of the visit, pupils were also taken on a guided tour of the university campus, where they were able to explore the facilities and get a real sense of the student environment. To top off the experience, some pupils even managed to catch a glimpse of a working film set being used by an international production company, an unexpected and exciting highlight of the day!
Our pupils made the most of the opportunity and represented the school brilliantly throughout.
