A group of Year 10 pupils visited East Durham College's Houghall campus to explore the wide variety of land-based courses available and gain a better understanding of the opportunities the college offers.

Throughout the day, pupils took part in interactive sessions and tours covering areas such as equine studies, agriculture, wildlife management and animal care. The hands-on nature of the visit gave pupils the chance to see the facilities up close and meet many of the animals cared for by students at the college, making new four-legged friends along the way.

The visit provided a valuable insight into the practical and vocational elements of land-based education and helped broaden pupils' awareness of alternative post-16 options that might suit their interests and aspirations.

This trip is one of many being offered to support Year 10 pupils as they begin considering their next steps when leaving A360. We're proud to see them making the most of those opportunities and engaging so positively with their futures.
