Year 10 Visit Sunderland College for Post-16 Taster Day
Back
Year 10 pupils recently visited Sunderland College for a post-16 taster day and their conduct and engagement throughout the trip were nothing short of outstanding.
Accompanied by Miss Quinn and supporting staff, pupils took part in a wide range of sessions, including engineering, hospitality, hair and beauty and construction. Whether or not the sessions matched their current interests, every student approached the day with a positive, open attitude and a willingness to engage fully.
The trip not only gave pupils a flavour of what life at college might be like, but also helped them to begin thinking more deeply about their post-16 options. Staff were particularly impressed with the way students conducted themselves throughout the day.
"They were all absolutely fantastic; listening attentively, following instructions and getting involved in every session. They were brilliant role models for the school."
- Suzanne Quinn, Laidlaw Resource Centre Manager and Careers Lead at Academy 360
College staff also praised the group, commenting that they were one of the best cohorts of visiting students they had worked with.
We are incredibly proud of how our pupils represented the school and are pleased to see them taking such thoughtful steps towards planning their futures.
