Curriculum Intent - Business (KS4)
At Academy 360 in the WJEC Retail Business course, we aim to provide students with a strong foundation in business concepts such as marketing, finance, and customer service. The course develops key skills in decision-making, problem-solving, and financial literacy, while promoting an entrepreneurial mindset. Students will enhance their oracy skills through discussions, presentations, and debates, and improve literacy through reading and writing tasks related to business case studies and reports. The course prepares students for further study or careers in business, economics, marketing, and entrepreneurship, equipping them with essential skills for future success.
The WJEC Retail Business course provides a structured learning journey from basic knowledge to advanced understanding of the UK business sector. Starting from an introduction, students are introduced to basic concepts which include topics like business structures and operations. They then progress to more complex areas like marketing and finance. They will complete coursework using real life business scenarios through practical application, allowing students to develop critical thinking, decision-making, and communication skills.
