Musical Experiences
At Academy 360, we are committed to nurturing a lifelong love of music and offering every child a high-quality musical experience. This year, we are excited to provide an expanded programme of specialist teaching, enrichment opportunities and performance events across the school.
We are delighted to have Dr Renwick working with Reception and Key Stage 1. His specialist music sessions introduce our youngest learners to rhythm, pitch and musical expression through fun, hands-on activities.
In Key stage 2, Lisa Ingram delivers a rich and varied music curriculum. She teaches ukulele and GarageBand, helping pupils develop both instrumental skills and an understanding of digital music creation. Lisa also leads our whole-school singing assemblies and runs our school choir.
We are also proud to support individual musical talent. This year, a child in Year 5 is receiving specialist coaching in violin to help her develop her exceptional musical ability.
Performance is an important part of music at our school. Throughout the year, pupils take part in a range of events including the Harvest Festival, Christmas performances, Easter celebrations and our end-of-year shows.
Children also have opportunities to experience live theatre and professional productions. Pupils recently enjoyed visits to performances such as Mary Poppins and The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, and during our London residential, children attended a West End show - an unforgettable experience that brings the magic of live performances to life.
In addition to this, Key Stage 1 will be taking part in Infantasia, and Year 5 will join other schools from across the trust for a large-scale singing performance at Newcastle City Hall.
