Year 10 pupils recently visited East Durham College for a post-16 taster day, giving them the opportunity to explore college life and the range of education and training pathways available after Year 11.

During the visit, pupils took part in practical sessions across a variety of subject areas, choosing from Childcare, Construction, Uniformed Public Services, Sport, Animal Care and Hair & Beauty. The hands-on activities gave pupils an insight into each course, allowing them to experience vocational learning in a college environment while exploring subjects that match their interests.

As well as experiencing college life first-hand, pupils had the opportunity to explore the campus and learn more about the facilities, courses and support available to students at East Durham College.

The visit forms part of Academy 360's wider careers and post-16 education programme, which provides pupils with opportunities to explore the different pathways available after Year 11 and develop a better understanding of the options open to them as they plan their next steps.

Academy 360 would like to thank the staff at East Durham College for delivering an engaging and informative day, and for providing pupils with a valuable insight into college life.
