This week, our Year 10 pupils began their World of Work programme, designed to prepare them for future careers and develop essential employability skills. To kick off the programme, we welcomed Richie and Steve from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) into school to deliver the first session in a series of employability workshops.

During the initial workshop, pupils explored the fundamentals of creating a CV, gaining a clear understanding of its purpose and the importance of highlighting key skills. The session encourages students to reflect on their own individual strengths and consider which skills they could showcase when applying for jobs or further education.

These workshops are an important step in supporting our students' transition from school to the workplace, helping them build confidence and awareness of what employers look for. We are excited to continue this partnership with Richie and Steve, who will be returning next week to further develop our pupils' knowledge and practical skills.

The World of Work programme is part of our ongoing commitment to equip students with the tools they need to succeed in their future careers, providing a strong foundation for their next steps beyond school.
