Reach out for Support

Message from the Princpal

Dear Parents and Carers,

I would like to wish you all a very happy half-term holiday with your children, when we hand them back to you at the end of today (Thursday 24 October), as tomorrow is a staff training day.

We have had a busy few weeks, ending with our Harvest Festival assemblies across all phases, as well as our Hallowe’en events in the Hub and in Primary.

Just before I sign off, here are a few reminders, please:

  • All children and students in the school, from Primary all the way to the end of Year 11, must wear their full school uniform, to include a coat, book bags, equipment and black leather or leather-look shoes.
  • (Primary phase children are allowed plain black trainers – secondary are not).
  • Thank you for supporting our no-jewellery policy, which includes any piercings, false eyelashes or false nails.
  • Please aim to arrive in time for school – at the very latest, by 8.35am in Secondary and 8.45am in Primary.
  • There is Breakfast Club, free to all children and students from 8.00am every morning. This is a chance to catch up with friends before the school day begins, to play a few different board games and to have something healthy to eat and drink.
  • Please encourage your child to come into school every single day, even if they feel a little unwell. Here is where they need to be every day that the school is open.
  • Thank you for attending our Primary phase parental events and for providing feedback. It is your feedback to us that helps us to improve as a school.
  • We will soon share with you our Christmas events calendar for the Primary children, and there are events after school for the Secondary students’ parents, namely the Year 11 Parent Information Session, when you will have the chance to hear about how we are helping your child to prepare for their GCSEs, including how to revise!
  • In November, we are launching Sparx Homework for maths in the Secondary phase, increasing your child’s chances of success in this vital subject.

There’s plenty more happening after the holidays, but enough from me!

Have a lovely week with your children, and we look forward to welcoming them back into our care on Monday 4 November at the usual time.

Best wishes,

Mr D.R. Amos,

Principal.
