Year 10 Pupils Take Part in LAE Futures Programme
Back
Yesterday, some of our Year 10 pupils attended the first of seven careers workshops as part of the new Futures Programme run by the London Academy of Excellence (LAE).
The programme is designed to raise pupils’ aspirations and broaden their understanding of the diverse career paths available. During the session, students heard from four LAE alumni about their experiences at school, the challenges they faced and what motivated them to pursue the careers they have today. One of the alumni even shared their journey into studying extra-terrestrial life and Space Law at Northumbria University, offering an inspiring example of pursuing unique and ambitious career goals.
“We are thrilled to be working closely with LAE to give some of our pupils the opportunity to learn about a range of job sectors; speaking directly to those who are actually living and breathing the job role is invaluable.”
- Mr Amos, Principal of Academy 360
Pupils developed valuable skills in goal setting, career awareness and reflective thinking, while gaining insight into how determination, planning and self-motivation can open doors to a wide range of opportunities. The workshop provided a practical perspective on the importance of education, perseverance and ambition in shaping future career paths.
