Academy 360 Students Experience Unforgettable Flag Bearer Moment at Sunderland AFC Game
Back
A group of Year 5 and 6 students from Academy 360 were recently invited to take part in a remarkable experience as flag bearers for Sunderland AFC during their match against Plymouth at the iconic Stadium of Light.
This incredible opportunity was made possible with the support of Academy 360’s staff, who worked together to ensure the event ran smoothly. Courtney McCluskey, a primary teacher at the school, expressed her gratitude, saying, "It was a fantastic opportunity to promote Academy 360, but more importantly, it was an unforgettable experience for the children who took part."
The students, chosen for their exemplary behaviour, attendance, and attitude to learning, stood proudly before a crowd of over 41,000 fans, showcasing their bravery and pride as they represented their school. For many, it was a once-in-a-lifetime moment that they will cherish forever.
The excitement was clear as the students beamed with joy, and it was equally special to see their parents’ pride, many of whom were in the stands to cheer them on. The moment was made even more special when the students were seen on national television during the ITV football highlights show.
This event was not only a fantastic opportunity to showcase the talents and character of our students, but it also highlighted the incredible teamwork of our staff. We are so proud of the children, their families, and the entire Academy 360 team for making this experience truly unforgettable.
Congratulations to everyone involved!
